utter silence's history
I'm not sure why I have this section here since I hardly think any of you care about the history of this little shrine, but hey, I like to keep track of these things. :)
Utter Silence began sometime in the early summer of 2002. I didn't even have the game when I started this thing up, but I had seen Riku and ads for it all over the place. I guess you could say it was 'love at first sight'. :) I had very little knowledge of graphic and html design at the time, so it was built using Geocities pagebuilders and the cheap photo editing software that came with my 8-year-old computer.
As time went on I added media and information and I tried to make it as indepth as I possibly could. Around October of 2002 I left it to die. I had beaten the game, and moved on with things. I taught myself actual html instead of relying upon pagebuilder tricks. I had been offered hosting several times prior to that, but because I had no clue how to work things outside of Geocities, I had to decline each time. :( 3-4 months later I came back with a brain full of silly codes and stuff, and I gave the site a complete and total revamp. That was when visitors actually started to arrive. Ember from Yaoiness.com came along, and invited me to be hosted by her. She was a wonderful host, and she provided me with so much space and resources. If it weren't for her, I doubt Utter Silence would still be here today.
Unfortunately, problems arose with the hosting of yaoiness.com, so I decided to take a huge step forward and I bought myself the domain you're at right now! I named it after the wishing star keyblade, so it was only fit that the first real site here was Utter Silence. Having my own domain allowed me to explore many different options when it came to media and information since I had access to scripts and all that jazz. I never really took advantage of said things because I found them to be confusing and pointless.
And this bring me to now. Even though my updates are far and few between, people still visit, and that really warms my heart. I never thought my easily-abandoned Geocities pagebuilder shrine would be where it is today. With almost 50,000 visitors under my belt, I feel that this shrine is the most successful and loved webproject I've ever worked on. :)
