the battles
Although it pains us to see Riku hurt, you MUST defeat him in battle to progress in the game. ;__;. He wields 3 different weapons, a blunt wooden object, a wing-y sword-y thing, and a keyblade. Each battle is very different, so you must be prepared for the worst. *points below* Just take my advice... and you'll be ok. *gets attacked by Riku, and his blunt wooden sword* x_o;;
destiny islands
HP:??? EXP:???
Riku wields a wooden sword, and he is very talented, and puts it to good use. *wink* Hahaha. Ok... enough innuendo. Riku fights just like Sora, he uses combination attacks, and aerial attacks as well. When you're fighting him, make sure you avoid the edge of the island, cause if you fall off, Riku automatically wins. Make sure you jump, and use a lot of combo attacks (i.e., press the x, and o buttons repeatedly). When you eventually knock Riku over, jump to the side, or else he shall release his mighty kick attack on your pitiful ass. *gets bricked*. Every time you defeat him, you get a potion. (yay for potions!)
hollow bastion 1
HP:500 EXP:2000
All I have to say about this battle is... DAMN. Riku will kick your ass if you aren't above level 30. Riku uses sliding attacks, and aerial combos. To put it bluntly, he runs/skids over to you at a VERY high rate of speed, and jumps, and slashes at you. Remember to use the Dodge Roll ability, and attack from behind. Sadly... Riku is immune to magic, so you use up all your MP on defensive spells such as Curaga, and Aeroga. During the battle, you can smash the pots around the room, to get some HP balls and Hi-Potions (thank you Square-Enix, for placing healing things in strategic places). Once you defeat Riku, you gain the ability to use the White Trinity Marks. *joy*
hollow bastion 2
HP:900 EXP:8500
Ok... now you're gonna fight scary Riku. The best keyblade to use in this battle would be the Olympia. If you don't have that... go to Wonderland, and use the White Trinity Mark in the Lotus Forest to obtain the Lady Luck keychain. Equip yourself with lots of potions, and remember to have the abilities Ars Arcanum, Guard, and Counterattack activated. When you need to cast Cura... glide away, and make sure you avoid Riku until the spell is complete. Riku has two attacks that will knock you flat on your ass if you aren't careful. One is similar to Strike Raid, in which Riku chucks his weapon at you. If you can smack that weapon right before it hits you, it shall throw itself back at Riku, and smack him upside the head. I just recommend you dodge that attack. When Riku powers up, he will launch a series of attacks, and he shoots back and forth across the battle area. My advice to you is, JUMP AND GLIDE!!! Wait until Riku calms down to stop gliding. If you are able to knock Riku off balance, use the Arcanum attack (which you acquire after defeating Capt. Hook). Once you defeat Riku, you obtain the Ragnarok attack (which in my opinion is KICK ASS... equip it as soon as you get it, even if it means de-equipping some other abilities).
